"Beep beep beep beep beep!"

... aka robot cookies!

Check out these super cute 3-piece robot cookies!

Last week Jennifer emailed me requesting robot cookies for her little man's 3rd birthday. She sent me a picture of some really cool cupcakes and wondered if I could make something similar in cookie form instead. Of course!!! {Almost} anything is possible right?!?!

I opted for a rainbow colour pallete and was really excited {maybe even a little too excited!} to use my brand spankin' new Americolour Gourmet Writer pens to add the black details.
It just occured to me that I should have mixed up the pieces and made different robots...oh well, another time! I wonder if the birthday boy figured that out?!

The first time I saw 3-piece cookies was here. I think they're great! Not to mention you get to eat 3 cookies for the guilt of one ;)

Fit for a Princess... or 2!

Ever since this post a couple of weeks ago my inbox has been flooded with requests for princess crown cookies. The princess phenomenon is nothing new to me {Kindergarten teacher and all :)} but I never thought there would be so many in my house so soon! It's great!!

These princess crown cookies were made for Stella and Grace's 7th birthday party. I have known the girls and their parents since they were born and it's hard to believe that they are 7 already!! The girls' mom, Corinne, requested crown cookies to double as party favours and I {of course} suggested to personalize them with each of the party-goers names. Oh how I LOVE that!!!! Guess she couldn't get away with no princesses 2 years in a row ;)

{If you look closely you can see a little sparkle!}

Cute right??!! I can't completely take credit though... check out my inspiration here!

I also made cupcakes for the girls' party...

I had to laugh when Corinne passed on their request for this years' treats... butterflies and flowers...just like last year!!! I laughed even harder when they exclaimed that they were "WAY better than last years!". That's a compliment right?!?! Haha! I didn't think last year's cupcakes were that bad!

Guess I have my work cut out for me next year ;)

Happy 7th birthday Stella and Gracie!!

An All-Inclusive Celebration

Although the weather has been unusually beautiful for this time of year on the good 'ol prairies there is just something about Spring Break that has me longing for a hot, all-inclusive getaway. I actually long for a hot, all-inclusive vacation approximately 295 days of the year, but who's counting?! Regardless, here I am, stuck in landlocked Winnipeg this week, catching up on some reading and getting the oil changed in my car... jealous? Ha!

All of this all-inclusive business makes me think about indulgence and that makes me think about the triple threat... cakes, cupcakes and cookies. Annnndddd.... a couple of weekends ago I made all 3 goodies for a double-y delicious 1st birthday celebration. An obvious, yet clever, segway if I do say so myself! See how it all comes together in my head ;)

The story of this 1st birthday celebration is a pretty cool one. My friend Kelly had her son, Makai, a year ago. Her sister was pregnant at the same time with her son, Kian. The two boys were born just days apart and so the joint birthday party madness began!

Kelly contacted me about making cupcakes, 2 cakes (one for each birthday boy) and favour cookies for the party. They had chosen a space theme and requested star cupcakes, rocketship cakes and #1 cookies. And so the all-inclusive {Sweets 'n Sprinkles style} birthday party madness began!

The cupcakes and cookies....

...and my absolute favourite cookies that I've ever made EVER!!!
Warning - I took a lot of pictures of these cookies! They were so cute and I was excited!!
Please bear with me :)

I never miss an opportunity to put a monogram {or 2} on anything!

All packed up and ready to go! How cute is this?!

A table full of cookies at the door for party goers to grab on their way out!

I am such a huge fan of the cookie party favour! Who doesn't like to get a delicious sugar cookie to take home {or eat in the car on the way home.... or maybe that's just me}?!

Check out the cupcakes I made for Kelly's baby shower when Makai was just a babe here.

For those of us "lucky" enough to stay in the 'Peg for Spring Break a triple c all-inclusive party might be just the cure for all this vacay-envy going on right now!

Just checked the weather forecast for the week...snow....awesome...

'lil cutie!

Back in August I had the pleasure of creating gnome, owl and toadstool cupcakes for the too-adorable-for-words Carson's 1st birthday! His mom Tristan sent me a few pictures from the day and I simply couldn't resist sharing!
Thanks again Tristan! Check out my gnome sweet gnome post to see Carson's cupcakes.

gnome sweet gnome

Good morning and happy September! Where has the summer gone?! Only 2 more sleeps until school starts and I can't wait to meet my new little bunch of cuties :)

I'll start off this morning's post with some cupcakes and a cake for a one year old cutie! A few weeks ago Carson turned one and his mom, Tristan, requested these adorable gnome, toadstool and owl cupcakes. She was inspired by a pack of stickers for the theme of his birthday and I love it! I was inspired by my new favourite blog (did I mention that in my last blog?! Haha!), Fairytale Frosting, where I saw some super adorable gnome cupcakes. Tristan also requested a small owl cake for Carson to have all to himself...I can just imagine the fun he had digging into it!!

Carson's cupcakes were red velvet with green grass buttercream icing. His cake was chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate!!! Chocolate cake and chocolate buttercream. Perfect for the token one-year-old-cake-all-over-the-baby photo op!!

Happy first Birthday Carson!!! I hope you enjoyed your cake :) Thanks Tristan!

old skool tats ;)

Oh...how FUN!!! Last weekend was a *very important* birthday for my friend, Jaclyn's, sister, Marcy. And this birthday came with a special request for some old school tattoo cookies. Marcy is a tattoo artist at South of Heaven tattoo shop so it only made sense! I have to say that I am definitely not an expert in tattoo art but sugar cookie art I can do! Haha! I think they turned out awesome and, from what I hear, were a hit at the party :)

Thanks Jaclyn and HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARCY!!! I'll come see you when I get up enough nerve for my first tattoo! lol

...on display...

pretty flowers

These pretty cupcakes were created for Marlie for a 60th birthday party. I experimented with painting my fondant flowers with food coloruring for the first time and I was very excited with the results! It definitely gives them a more realistic and delicious look!

Marlie's cupcakes were red velvet (mmm...my favourite!!) with buttercream icing and fondant flowers and numbers. I hope you enjoyed them Marlie!

**rockstars**

I made these star cupcakes as a gift for my friend Jaclyn for her rockstar themed birthday party last month. She loves stars so it was a great opportunity to create these fun treats. When I saw the zebra print cupcake liners I knew they would compliment the red, black and silver stars perfectly! We dressed the cupcake stand up with a red feather boa and silver skull to complete the look. So much fun for a super fun party!!

Happy Birthday Jaclyn!!

hello... kitty

These super cute creations were made for my friend, Misty, for her daughter, Emily's, third birthday. Misty and I spent our last year of university together when Emily was just a tot...hard to believe how quickly they grow up! Emily loves Hello Kitty so what better way to celebrate than with Hello Kitty cupcakes!! Half of the cupcakes had Hello Kitty faces on them while the other had big red bows and the number "3".

Happy 3rd Birthday Emily!!!!!

sugar & spice and everything nice

These beauties were created for Stella and Grace's 6th birthday party. Their mom, Corinne, contacted me about making cupcakes for their Golf Dome birthday party with only one stipulation - NO princesses!! Haha! Made me laugh...guess princesses are getting old on the parent front! She did, however, say that pink and purple were most definitely in (of course!!)! So, we decided on butterflies, ladybugs, and flowers. I can imagine it might get annoying to have to share everything with your twin sister so I personalized some of the cupcakes with "S" for Stella and "G" for Grace. I think that these cupcakes turned out to be a pretty great alternative to princesses!

Stella and Grace`s cupcakes were marble and chocolate flavoured with chocolate buttercream and vanilla (pink and purple) icing.

Happy 6th Birthday to Stella and Grace!!! Thank you Mizak`s for including me in your special day!
